Zion National Park & Hiking Angel’s Landing

Our first national park whilst exploring the southern states was Zion, a favourite of mine for many reasons. Red rock. Incredible scenery. And home to one of my top hikes; Angel’s Landing.

This hike is not that long (an 5 mile round trip), but the inclines are that kinda steep that makes your thighs burn with each step. Which, I guess, is why not everyone makes it to the top. That, and maybe the fact half of the trail is up the side of a sheer cliff with nothing but a metal chain to hold on to. A little death defying – I mean, 5 people have died attempting this hike over the past 100 years -but thoroughly rewarding.

And not something I thought I’d personally be able to conquer.
